IXYS Corporation is a US company based in California .

history

The company, founded in 1983, develops high-tech products in the field of high-performance electronics. IXYS was one of the first companies to specialize in the development of power semiconductors, integrated circuits and RF systems. IXYS offers power semiconductors for solar and wind energy conversion, and the first solar cell for device batteries. IXYS was a company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

In 2010 IXYS took over the processor manufacturer Zilog . In 2018, the takeover of IXYS by electronics manufacturer Littelfuse was completed.

structure

Based in Silicon Valley , IXYS has more than 1000 employees in nine sister companies worldwide. Some external companies are also integrated in the IXYS Group (including Westcode from southern England and Clare from New York). IXYS has a customer base of over 2000 telecommunications, industrial, medical, transportation and consumer products.

In Germany, IXYS is represented in Lampertheim in southern Hesse . In 1990 the power semiconductor division of the Asea Brown Boveri Group was taken over there. The location, which employs 500 people, has developed into one of the supporting pillars of the IXYS Group.
