Ibra College of Technology

The Ibra College of Technology is a state college in Ibra in Oman . It is one of seven technical colleges in Oman and belongs to the tertiary education sector.

The college was originally founded as a vocational school in the 1982/83 school year and was supervised by the Omani Vocational Training Authority . From the school year 1993/94 onwards, under the new name Ibra Technical Industrial College , it offered vocational courses in Arabic until 1995 and then General National Vocational Qualification in English until 2001 . During this time it was overseen by the Omani Ministry of Social Affairs for Labor and Vocational Training . In 2001 it was upgraded to a college and has been named since then. Since then, it has been under the supervision of the Omani Ministry of Manpower (MoMP) . A bachelor's degree has also been offered since the 2003/2004 academic year .

The college is located on its own spacious campus. There are teaching buildings for the various disciplines and a language center for English on the premises. In addition, there is an administration building, residential buildings for college employees, a cafeteria for male students and visitors, a cafeteria for female students, a soccer field, a mosque, a theater, various shops, various sports facilities, a clubhouse, a medical station as well several parking spaces.

The admission requirement is the General Secondary School Certificate , which can be obtained after 12 years of attending school. One-year certificate courses, two-year diploma courses and three-year higher diploma courses in engineering, business studies and information technology are offered.

In the 2008/2009 academic year, a total of 2825 students (including 910 female students) studied at the college.
