Idiolalia

Idiolalia (from the Greek ἴδιος = "own"; λαλείν = "to talk") is the utterance of sentences and words that are nonsensical for other people. It occurs in schizophrenia and similar diseases, but can also represent a phase in the language development of the toddler, in this case one speaks of canonical babbling .
