Ignis Brunensis

Ignis Brunensis has been a fireworks festival that has been taking place since 1998 and is held annually in Brno in late spring . The event has been designed as an international competition since 2003. The Latin name Ignis Brunensis means something like Brno fire .

In 2017, the festival took place for the twentieth time from May 26th to June 24th. On 7 evenings, teams of pyrotechnicians from China, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and the Czech Republic held fire shows of around 30 minutes each. Each of the fireworks was watched by well over a hundred thousand spectators.
