Igor Yuryevich Ivanov

Igor Jurjewitsch Ivanov ( Russian Игорь Юрьевич Иванов ; born May 19, 1954 in Leningrad ) is a Russian theater and film actor . He was honored as a People's Artist of Russia in 2004.

Training and work

Ivanov graduated from the State Academy of Theater Arts in Saint Petersburg in 1979 and then worked as an actor at the Tomsk TJUS for a year. Since 1980 he has played at the Maly Theater in Saint Petersburg .

He has been based in Berlin since 2010 , but continues to play at the Maly Theater in St.Petersburg, Russia.

Awards

• 1991: Honored Artist of the Russian SFSR
• 2004: People's Artist of Russia - honorary title for life's work in the field of performing arts
• 2003: The Golden Soffit - Award for the best male theater leading role
• 2003: Strscheltschik Prize - award for his life's work at the theater
• 2002: The International Stanislavski Prize - award for the best male leading role
