The Ikarion Software GmbH was a manufacturer of computer games based in Aachen. The company achieved its greatest commercial success with the PC implementation of Demonworld and the soccer manager Hattrick! .

Ikarion was founded in 1993 and has become one of the larger and more successful game developers in Germany . Despite the 60 to 70% completion of the DSA role-playing game Armalion , no investor could be found in 2001. The company was finally dissolved on December 18, 2001.

Ascaron later acquired the rights of Ikarion from the bankruptcy estate and took over some former project employees. Ascaron developed the successful action role-playing game Sacred on the basis of Armalion .

The development team has been operating as a subsidiary of Ascaron under the name Studio II Software since the takeover .
