Adobe InCopy

InCopy is a text editor - program from Adobe Inc. , all based on the collaboration with Adobe InDesign is designed. Much of the program code is identical to that of InDesign, so that an editor or copywriter can write texts that are absolutely line-binding. The editor can change the content of individual text frames while a layouter is editing the page design in InDesign.

Adobe InCopy is the direct competitor to QuarkCopyDesk from Quark, which has been on the market since 1991.

functionality

InCopy works similarly to other text editor programs. Extended functions are available such as change tracking or note functions. With InCopy you can open InDesign files so that you can see exactly the state of the layout while editing text. However, you cannot change the page design, for example the size of a text frame. In this way, a strict distribution of tasks between text processing and page design in working groups in publishers and agencies is achieved.

InCopy can be used directly with InDesign in small workgroups. For larger workgroups or for special requirements, InDesign and InCopy are often used in conjunction with an editorial system that enables the editorial workflow to be controlled.
