In Aménas

In Aménas ( Arabic إن أميناس, in amīnās ) is a city in the Illizi province in eastern Algeria , about 30 km away from the Libyan border. It has about 5000 inhabitants. About 45 km to the west is the Tiguentourine gas field, which was the scene of the hostage-taking of In Aménas in January 2013 .
