history

Informatica (NASDAQ: INFA) was founded in 1993 in Silicon Valley by Indian entrepreneurs Gaurav Dhillon and Diaz Nezamoney . It arose from the idea that data warehouses should no longer be read in by hand, but can be created with graphical tools. In October 2012 Informatica took over the Stuttgart data management specialist Heiler Software .

At the beginning of April 2015, the Board of Directors approved the takeover of the company by the financial investor Permira , Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), Microsoft Corporation and Salesforce Ventures.
