Infundibulum

Under infundibulum ( lat. For "funnel") is understood in the anatomy of funnel-shaped structures. Examples are:

• Infundibulum of the neurohypophysis (pituitary stalk)
• Infundibulum dentis : enamel invagination of the teeth in horses and cloven-hoofed animals (see section Criteria in the article Tooth Age Estimation )
• Infundibulum tubae uterinae of the fallopian tube
• Infundibulum of the ovary in birds
• Ethmoid infundibulum : niche in the mucous membrane of the ethmoid bone under the middle turbinate
