Engineering committee

An engineering committee or genius committee is a historical advisory authority made up of engineers and pioneer officers for the preparation and examination of drafts for fortifications .

In Germany the engineering committee was subordinate to the chief of the engineering corps towards the end of the 19th century ; in Austria the genius committee was a division of the technical military committee .
