Inmarsat M
Inmarsat M was a communication service of the communication service provider Inmarsat .
The service provided telephony , fax and data transmission (e.g. for Internet use).
Inmarsat M was not part of the global distress and safety radio system (GMDSS) and therefore not suitable for alerting in distress at sea . Inmarsat M works worldwide, with the exception of the regions north 70 ° N and south 70 ° S.
Inmarsat-M was discontinued on December 30, 2014, Land Mini-M on June 30, 2015 and the Maritime Mini-M service on December 30, 2016.
