Innes' Star (also Gliese 422 ) is a 41.3 light years distant sub-dwarf in the constellation keel of the ship . It was discovered by Robert Innes, who also discovered Proxima Centauri . Seen from the sun, it is one of the 1,000 nearest stars .

Innes 'star is believed to be orbited by an exoplanet (Innes' star b, Gliese 422b). Due to the high mass, it is believed that it is a gas giant . This planet has not yet been confirmed or refuted.
