Input 64 (own spelling INPUT 64 ) was a computer magazine for the Commodore 64 published by Heise-Verlag from 1985 to 1988 .

The magazine was completely - apart from a small booklet - on digital data carriers : first on a cassette for the data set of the C64, later on a floppy disk for the VC1541 floppy disk drive of the home computer .

The main advantage of the concept was that programs for the computer could be loaded digitally. Since programs at the time were usually distributed as printed program code on paper, the approach of Input 64 represented an innovation.

The actual magazine was loaded as a program from the data carrier into the computer and then appeared in text form on the screen. A selection menu was used to select the various articles, programs - including tools, instruction set extensions, learning series (on the subject of the C64 itself and languages) and games.

In December 1988 the magazine was discontinued. The old editorial team then founded the iX magazine in the same publishing house.
