InstallForge is a free software developed for Windows for creating installation routines and update wizards . It is operated exclusively via a graphical user interface ; scripts are not used.

history

The first public version of InstallForge was published in early 2007, and in 2014, due to increased demand, a function for executing CMD commands to implement more complex installation functions appeared. Through the participation of the community, numerous extensions (such as translated language files) have been added over time.

Range of functions

The installation programs created with InstallForge run on all common Windows operating systems (downwards compatible up to Windows 2000 ). The installation files are compressed into a single executable file ( EXE ) using the deflate algorithm. A special feature of InstallShield Forge, the complete abandonment of the runtime environment of the Windows Installer is. Instead, use a proprietary technology, which has no dependencies on external runtime environments and to enable faster initialization of the installation packages.
