The Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE) is the Mexican Institute for Social Security and Social Services for State Employees founded in 1959 during the reign of President Adolfo López Mateos and based in Mexico City .
Like the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social , which is responsible for civilian workers , the ISSSTE is a state institution. The current general manager is Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares .
