Feeling of insufficiency

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With the term “ feeling of insufficiency ” in the psychopathological findings according to the AMDP system, a state is recorded in which one does not trust one's own performance (self-confidence) or in which one's own self-esteem is reduced. If it is mild, the feeling of insufficiency only relates to certain subject areas; if it is severe, the loss of self-esteem determines large areas of life or at least individual particularly important areas. Feelings of insufficiency can be the symptom of depression , although other symptoms must be added to this diagnosis. According to the AMDP system, feelings of insufficiency should also be recorded in the findings as a description of the affect if there is an actual impairment that can be used to justify the feelings of insufficiency.
