The Intercontinental Bank is one of the largest banks in Nigeria with 300 branches . The headquarters are located in Victoria Island , the economic center of Lagos .
history
The bank was founded in 1989 as Nigerian Intercontinental Merchant Bank Limited, in 1996 the Equity Bank of Nigeria Limited and the insurance company West African Provincial Company were taken over, and in 2002 the company went public. The Intercontinental Bank has also been active in Ghana since 2006 .

The universal bank is divided into three areas:
- Private customers ("Personal")
- Corporate customers ("Business")
- Investment banking ("Corporate and Institutional Banking")
In addition to classic banking services, insurance from the subsidiary Intercontinental Wapic is also offered.
shares
The shares are listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. In terms of market value, it is one of the largest companies in Africa and is therefore also included in the S&P Africa 40 Index, which was created in 2008 .
