Interfaculty Committee Agraria (ICA) is an association of more than 60 universities in the life sciences with the aim of improved and coordinated scientific training and joint research project participation of members. The general secretariat of the ICA is located on the campus of the Czech Agricultural University in Prague .

history

The ICA was founded in 1988 as a network of European universities. Membership is open to all universities in Europe that focus on life sciences in agriculture, nutrition, forestry, natural resources, rural development and the environment in the 46 countries of the Bologna Process. Association membership is open to universities outside Europe.

The ICA brings together seven standing committees under the umbrella of the ICA Council. The ICA Council acts as a forum for networking and initiating new projects between the standing committees and the ICA. He also cooperates with other European and international networks and with international student associations.

The central goals of the ICA, on a technical, organizational and political level, are to promote and support European universities with a focus on the life sciences. This includes an active role in international quality assurance and accreditation processes, improving relations between business and universities in terms of education, research and innovation, as well as supporting the global internationalization of members and by involving the ICA in the work of international networks.
