International African Institute
The International African Institute (" IAI ") was founded in London in 1926 (as the International Institute of African Languages and Cultures ) for the study of African languages . Diedrich Hermann Westermann was director from 1926 (with the French Henri Labouret ) until 1939.
The IAI has published the quarterly magazine Africa since 1928 .
The task of the IAI is to "promote the education of the public in the study of Africa and its languages and cultures". Its operations include seminars, journals, monographs, compilations, and stimulating research in Africa.
