The International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame is an American hall of fame that honors major bluegrass musicians with the recording each year .

history

The Bluegrass Hall of Fame was founded in 1991 under the name "International Bluegrass Hall of Honor". The first to be honored were Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs as well as the "Father of Bluegrass" Bill Monroe . The Hall of Fame annually honors bluegrass pioneers or other great artists in the genre. Each year, artists are nominated by over 200 personalities from the music industry, five of whom are ultimately included during the International Bluegrass Music Awards ceremony .

The Hall of Fame is operated by the International Bluegrass Music Association and is located at the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro , Kentucky .
