International Communication Association

The International Communication Association (ICA) is an international association that deals with the topics of communication and mass media on a scientific level .

Your goals are

  • the provision of an international forum to promote the development, implementation and critical evaluation of communication science research
  • high quality publications and academic exchange
  • Bringing together scientists from different cultures and from different disciplines to research communication science subjects
  • Promotion of public interest in communication science .

The ICA has over 3,500 members worldwide. The current President is Peng Hwa Ang. The ICA's annual conferences mostly take place in North America (2007: San Francisco , 2008: Montreal ), but every few years also in other parts of the world (e.g. 2006: Dresden , 2010 Singapore ) .
