The International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRSF), until 2010 the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation (IASCF), is a non-profit foundation. Its objective is to develop high-quality global accounting standards, to promote the use and application of these standards and to bring about a convergence of national accounting regulations with these standards.

The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) is the central body for developing and issuing the accounting standards known as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS ). The IFRSF is often referred to as the legal umbrella organization of the IASB.

Legal structure of the foundation

The organization was founded on February 6, 2001 as a foundation of international law in Delaware, USA as part of the reorganization of the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) and is mainly financed by donations and income from publications.

The foundation is represented by 22 trustees. These have in particular the task of financing and monitoring the work of the organization. In addition, they have sole decision-making authority about changes to the statutes. You are obliged to act exclusively in the public interest.

Other organs

In addition to the International Accounting Standards Board , the International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) and the Standards Advisory Council (SAC) are organs and committees of the IFRSF.
