International Institute of Marine Surveying

The International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) is an independent expert organization. It is an institute based in Hampshire (England).

aims

The aim of the organization is, on the one hand, to train experts and , on the other hand, to lobby the various bodies of the maritime industry . The institute is striving for recognition by the IMO as an NGO . The IIMS is also active in various standardization committees of the British Standards (BSI).

organization

The founding meeting of 31 people from 18 countries took place on August 14, 1991 in London at the Baltic Exchange . The chairman is the president elected by the members, who is supported by the vice president who is also elected. Both are directors of the limited company . Membership is possible in various levels. The prerequisites are years of professional experience, training and work as an expert.
