The International Journal of Auditing was first published in 1997. The range of topics includes all aspects of the activities of an auditor as well as legal, regulatory and professional requirements. The goal it has set itself is not only to depict academic research, but also to take concrete practice into account. The current editor-in-chief is the Australian David Hay , professor of auditing at the University of Auckland .
