The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) is an international umbrella organization for amateurs of mixed martial arts .

history

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) was founded on February 29, 2012 in Stockholm as a non-profit organization under Swedish law. It sees itself as the umbrella organization of the national MMA associations. The goals of IMMAF are global growth and the specification of the rules for increasing the safety of this martial arts . In addition, the association is striving for recognition as an Olympic sport and thus participation in the Olympic Games . The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), to which a close cooperation still exists, was one of the supporters in founding the IMMAF .

National Associations

In Germany, the German Mixed Martial Arts Federation was founded in 2014 as the German representative of IMMAF. In Austria, the IMMAF is represented by the Austrian Mixed Martial Arts Federation and in Switzerland by the Swiss Mixed Martial Arts Federation.

Championships

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation regularly organizes world championships. In 2017 they took place in Bahrain , the year before in Las Vegas .
