Unicredit Bank (Russia)
The UniCredit Bank ( Russian ЮниКредит Банк ) until the end of 2007 as International Moscow Bank known (short IMB, Международный Московский Банк ) is a Russian universal bank based in Moscow .
history
The bank was founded in Moscow on October 19, 1989, by Russian ( Vneshekonombank , Sberbank , Promstroibank ) and international banks ( Bayerische Vereinsbank AG , Creditanstalt-Bankverein , Banca Commerciale Italiana , Crédit Lyonnais , Kansallis-Osake-Pankki ). The bank has been a member of SWIFT since 1990 .
In the following year, 1991, the IMB was the first Russian bank to receive a license to conduct foreign currency transactions . This license enabled the bank to expand its international payments and foreign trade business areas .
On October 1, 2001, IMB merged with Bank Austria Creditanstalt (Russia) following the takeover of Bank Austria Creditanstalt by HypoVereinsbank . Before the merger, IMB was mainly active in the corporate customer business while Bank Austria Creditanstalt (Russia) was mainly represented in the retail business.
