International team

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

International Team (IT) was an Italian game company. It was founded by Renzo Angelosanto and Marco Donadoni in 1979 and existed until 1988. Almost all games were by Marco Donadoni. International Team was a pioneer in the field of war and simulation games in Europe. Many of the beautifully equipped and large-format games came on the market in four languages: Italian, English, French and German. The translations into German were often very idiosyncratic.

In 1981, the game Ra received the special prize “The beautiful game” from the jury game of the year .

After the company went bankrupt in 1988, some games were taken over by the French company Eurogames .

CoSim games

A large part of the range was made up of conflict simulations in which the battles of history (Napoleonic Wars, World War II), the future (Millennium, The Third World War) or from fantasy worlds (Zargo's Lords, Whorhom) could be re-enacted.

They had a game board made up of hexagons, game pieces made of (opaque) cardboard and quite complicated rules. A game campaign lasted many hours. This was especially popular with die-hard fans.

In some IT games, the playing field was made up of combined octagons and squares.
