The International Military Organization (IMO) of prisoners in the Buchenwald concentration camp , which was formed at the end of 1943 , was the armed arm of the International Camp Committee (ILK) in Buchenwald. It consisted of eleven national task forces and had weapons that were to be used for protection in the event of the imminent destruction of the camp. The German communists Heinrich Studer and Otto Roth were in charge . The IMO took over the self-administration of KL Buchenwald after the abandonment by the SS until it was liberated by the American army on April 11, 1945.
