Internetwork Datagram Protocol

The Internetwork Datagram Protocol ( IDP for short ) is a network protocol in the protocol stack of the XNS (Xerox Network System). It is located in the network layer of the OSI reference model and thus fulfills roughly the same tasks as the Internet Protocol . IDP supports the routing of data and data packets from various transport protocols. These include B. the Routing Information Protocol , the Packet Exchange Protocol and the Sequenced Packet Protocol .
