Urahilina

Urahilina ( Assyrian : Irhuleni ), son of Parita, was king of Hamath . He led a coalition against the Assyrian expansionist efforts under Sulmanu-ašared III. on, from 845 BC. BC also Ben-Hadad II of Damascus belonged. This coalition succeeded in 853 BC. BC in the battle of Karkar a victory over the Assyrians, with which their advance to the west came to a standstill for two years. Urahilina later maintained good relations with Assyria.

His name also appears in inscriptions on votive offerings found in Nimrud . Inscriptions found in Syria report mainly on his construction activity.
