Iris Marlene Haschek (born March 29, 1982 in Graz ) is an Austrian film producer, filmmaker and journalist.

Life

Haschek was born in Graz as the daughter of Claudia Zinko and grew up in Thal near Graz (Styria).

After graduating in 2000 from the Ortweinschule Graz, which specializes in art and design, she studied theater and media studies at the University of Vienna. Iris Haschek has been working in television and film journalism since 2009. First worked at Tellux-Film as a production assistant and junior producer, and since 2011 as a producer at the former Viennese film production company makido film . From 2011 to 2015 Iris Haschek was responsible for international television documentaries, the majority of which were produced with public television channels; among others with the ORF, the ZDF, 3sat, arte, with the RAI or the Schweizer Rundfunk. She was also responsible for productions that were realized with private television providers such as Servus TV, Schau TV or W24.

In 2015 she founded the film and television production company Inspiris Film, of which she is the sole managing director and partner. The company is based in Vienna.

In addition to her work as a producer, she designs TV formats as a writer and director and develops formats.

The content of their productions is based on ethical, social, historical or political issues, with a focus on special female characters. Iris Haschek designed a film about Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, was responsible for a film about Ella Lingens and is working on a documentary about Maria, the mother of Jesus.

Broadcasting and co-production partners for their films are, for example, ORF, 3sat, SRG and RAI.

In addition to the TV partners, Iris Haschek cooperates with a number of educational institutions such as the BMBF , Matthias-Film and VsUM. Accordingly, almost all of Inspiris Film's TV documentaries are prepared for the educational sector and used in school lessons in the appropriate versions.

Together with the composer and musician Michael Pogo Kreiner, Iris Haschek runs the music and format development publisher Sound Trek 42, of which she is also the managing director.
