The Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc (until 2013 Irish Life and Permanent ) is an Irish financial services company based in Dublin .
history
Since Irish Life and Permanent was also massively affected by the financial crisis and the bursting of the Irish real estate bubble , it had to be rescued by the state like some other Irish financial service providers and was eventually broken up. Due to the high burdens on the bank , it was announced in March 2011 that 4 billion euros would be required. Shortly before that, Irish Life International Ltd. was founded. sold to the Swedish bank SEB .
Irish Life and Permanent was finally dissolved in 2013, the profitable insurance business was taken over by Ireland for 1.3 billion euros and shortly thereafter sold to the Canadian financial investor Great-west Lifeco. The remainder received government support of € 2.7 billion, was renamed Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc and became government owned.
