from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Irish Literary Theater ( Irish Literary Theater ) in Dublin was a short-lived precursor of the Abbey Theater . It was founded in 1899 by WB Yeats , Lady Gregory , George Moore and Edward Martyn . Its program featured a large number of works by its founders and other authors, including Padraic Colum . In his critical essay The Day of the Rabblement , published on October 15, 1901, the young James Joyce accused the Irish Literary Theater of a surrender to the trolls . In the same year the theater had to close for financial reasons.
