Island F is the largest island in Norris Lake , a reservoir in the US state of Tennessee . It is located in the central part of the lake and in the center of Union County . Until the construction of the Norris Dam in 1936, Island F was a ridge, surrounded on three sides by the Clinch River . Today there is only a narrow land connection to the south bank of the lake when the water level is low.
Island F measures about 1.3 by 2 km, is densely forested and undeveloped.
