The Israel Medical Association (IMA, Israeli Medical Association ), sometimes called Israel Medical Association called, is in Tel Aviv -based medical organization .

history

The IMA sees its origins in the Hebrew Medicinal Society for Jaffa and the Jaffa District , which was founded in 1912 by the then 32 doctors, dentists, veterinarians and pharmacists around Krinkin in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area based in what is now Israel . The Hebrew Medical Association in the Land of Israel (HMA) developed from it during the British mandate , which eventually became the Israel Medical Association. This holds annual conferences at which medical topics as well as health policy and ethical topics are discussed. It offers its members exchange programs between Israeli and foreign hospitals, universities and institutions. The IMA also conducts collective bargaining for the Israeli public health sector. It also takes on union duties in Israel.

World Fellowship

Doctors worldwide have the opportunity to join the international World Fellowship , which offers regular specialist conferences.

Publications

The IMA publishes two journals, the Harefuah (medicine) in New Hebrew with summaries in English and the Israel Medical Association Journal (IMAJ).
