Israel from Axum
Israel of Axum was a Christian king of the Aksumite Empire in Africa who ruled in the late sixth century. The ruler is known almost exclusively from his coins.
The Kebra Negest , an Ethiopian historical work, reports that Kaleb had two sons, one of whom was named Israel. It is controversial whether these two men are identical, after all it could be assumed that in later centuries there was still news of a successor to Caleb with the name Israel and that he was considered to be his son without actually being.
