Item (test)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Item or test item are called the individual tasks or questions of a psychological test . The items are assigned to a certain characteristic to be measured (see operationalization ) and provide a value (point value) which in the simplest case is offset across all items to form a raw value for the characteristic.

Items made of the "Itemstamm" (the question of statement or task), the response format (type of response output in selecting answers to possible alternatives), and the evaluation criteria for the answer. The degree of standardization can differ - e.g. B. given question, free answer, given evaluation criteria.

The word is an Anglicism (also pronounced in English), the Latin root of which was originally used for "further question points" in questionnaires. Today it is used for all types of tests.
