Ix-Ex-Splue was a Swiss post-punk or no-wave band from the 1980s.

history

The band was founded in 1984 under the name Ay-Dogdu in Basel . Their live performances were initially accompanied by dance and visual effects such as Super 8 film projections. The music consisted of a mixture of hypnotic improvisations and meditative sound orgies, which were celebrated in experimental performances. After various personnel changes, the style of music developed from 1988 into a form of experimental industrial / noise rock.

In addition to some DIY productions on audio cassettes, Ix-Ex-Splue released the single Treasonasylia and the album Ix-Ex-Splue on the Vision label in 1989 . The material was recorded and mixed in the former Basel piece dyeing works by Swiss jazz musician and producer Alex Buess . After further contributions to the compilation Victims of the Mixing Desk (1989) and Knock Out (The Sound of Vision) from 1991 and accompanied by further line-up changes, the disintegration that had been progressing for some time led to the breakup of the group in the early 1990s.
