Jægersborg Vandtårn

The Jægersborg Vandtarn is a water tower and skyscraper in the suburb of Gentofte municipality of Copenhagen . It is located in the immediate vicinity of Jægersborg Station, on the S-Bahn line in the greater area of ​​the Danish capital Copenhagen.

history

The 45 meter high water tower with a tank volume of 2,000 m³ was built in 1955 in reinforced concrete according to the designs of the Danish architect Edvard Thomsen. In the 1980s, a youth leisure center with multi-purpose rooms was set up in the basement.

Specialty

In 2006 the Danish architect Dorte Mandrup built 36 residential units under the tank, spread over eight floors. The apartments on the top five floors have balconies. The total usable space is 2,880 m². The construction time was 16 months. The property is mainly inhabited by students.
