József Tuncsik
József Tuncsik (born September 23, 1949 in Debrecen ) is a former Hungarian judoka . He competed in lightweight (up to 63 kg) until 1966, after the reorganization of the weight classes , he fought at half-light weight (up to 65 kg) from 1977.
Tuncsik was Hungarian champion in 1972, 1974 and 1975. In March 1976 he won the international tournament in Potsdam. At the European Championships in May 1976 in Kiev, he defeated Oleg Zurabiani from the Soviet team in the final . The Olympic Judo tournament took place in Montreal in late July 1976. After three wins, Tuncsik lost to Cuban Héctor Rodríguez in the semi-finals , and Tuncsik won the battle for bronze against Marian Standowicz from Poland .
In 1977 Tuncsik won the international tournament in Warsaw. At the European Championships in 1978 he lost in the semifinals against Nikolai Soloduchin from the Soviet Union. In the battle for bronze, Tuncsik won against Frenchman Guy Delvingt . In 1979 Tuncsik finished third again at the tournament in Pécs. After that, his international career ended.
The 1.67 m tall József Tuncsik started for Honvéd Budapest .
