JAMWiki is free wiki software written in the Java programming language by Ryan Holliday and based on JavaServer Pages . JAMWiki is licensed under the LGPL . JAMWiki is a Java replica of MediaWiki and uses the same wiki syntax.
history
Ryan Holliday started developing the JAMWiki software in June 2006.
Range of functions

Wikipedia syntax - JAMWiki currently supports almost all MediaWiki syntax. These include the following functions:
- Watch lists
- MediaWiki footnotes (the
<ref>and<references>tag). - MediaWiki templates
- MediaWiki categories
- Image display (with automatic image resizing)
- Delete article and revoke deletion
- Article versions
- Full text search (implemented with the Lucene search engine)
- Move / redirect article
- Internationalization - JAMWiki uses UTF-8 as the standard character encoding , so wikis in languages such as Chinese or Japanese can also be implemented.
