JAM goal 2012

JAM (Joint Aid Management) Germany e. V. is a non-governmental development cooperation organization that focuses its work on projects aimed at children and young people. The association is a branch of JAM International , South Africa.

The association was founded in Stuttgart in 2004 and supports people in need in several countries in Africa through projects. The work is mainly financed from donations and symbolic nutrition sponsorships, to a lesser extent from public funds. In the 2011 financial year, the total income was € 1.35 million.

tasks

The nutrition program developed by JAM is aimed at providing children in schools with nutritious food. For this purpose, the so-called COD pulp (corn + soy beans ) was developed from corn and soy beans . Corn meets the children's need for carbohydrates and soy the need for protein . The children receive a daily serving of approx. 100–150 grams of this food, which is enriched with vitamins and important nutrients. The pulp, which is given to schools in powder form and mixed with water, is made in JAM International's own factories in Africa. With this method, a child can be cared for for a year at a cost of 60 €. JAM also supports the general development of the schools as well as the drinking water supply by drilling wells. JAM's work includes the following programs:

  • School feeding programs
  • Food aid in emergency situations
  • Support services for orphans and vulnerable children
  • Programs in the areas of water and hygiene
  • Projects to fight HIV / AIDS
  • Vocational education and training programs
  • Agricultural development projects
