JES (drugs)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

JES is a nationwide network in the field of drug self-help . The abbreviation JES stands for junkies , alumni and substitutes . Under the motto "For a decent life with drugs", JES campaigns for the rights of drug users and stands up against exclusion and discrimination. Political demands from JES are expanded syringe exchange programs in order to avoid needle sharing , and adequate treatment offers with substitution agents such as methadone even in rural areas. The regulated distribution of clean heroin to consumers who cannot cope with methadone, polamidon or Subutex - the currently common substitutes - is clearly supported by JES. In the long term, JES votes for the sale of illegal drugs in specialist shops by trained specialists and for appropriate education about the potential dangers of these substances, since the prevailing policy of drug prohibition according to JES has disqualified itself over the decades.
