Jabber Open Source License

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jabber Open Source License ( JOSL ) is a license for free software . It was originally recognized by the Open Source Initiative , but was dropped in August 2006 in response to the proliferation of open source licenses. Among other things, the BitTorrent Open Source License has developed from it. Since JOSL-licensed projects can only be re-licensed under a certain class of licenses, it is not compatible with the GPL and is not recommended by the GNU project .

distribution

There is no official directory with software that is under the JOSL. There are currently 44 projects registered on the hosting portal SourceForge that use this license. (Status: February 2010)
