Jabi Lake , also called Jabi Reservoir , is a man-made lake created in 1993 in the Jabi district of the Nigerian capital Abuja . The lake is located about 10.4 kilometers from Abuja city center. It was built in a low-lying area to provide water for the urban environment. The area around the lake is a recreational area. The lake is also used for fishing , but there is no industrial processing. In October 2019, plans were announced to invest $ 15 million in developing the Jabi Lake area, creating over 10,000 jobs. A shopping center opened at the end of 2015 is located by the lake.
