Jacob Aharon Frenkel

Jacob Aharon Frenkel (* 1943 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli economist ; He was awarded the Israel Prize in 2002 and has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 1996 .

Life

Frenkel studied economics at the University of Chicago and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem . From 1991 to 2000 Frenkel was Governor of the Bank of Israel . From 2000 to 2004 Frenkel was Chairman of Merrill Lynch . From 2004 to 2009 Frenkel was Vice Chairman of the American International Group . Since 2009 he has been Chairman of JPMorgan Chase International.
