Jad (JAva Decompiler) is a decompiler for the Java programming language . Jad itself is command line based, but there are GUIs for Jad such as DJ Java Decompiler. There are also plugins from Jad for development environments such as JadClipse, a plugin for the Eclipse IDE . According to CNET.com, the various DJ Java Decompiler versions have been downloaded more than 10 million times in the past 8 years.

The domain name used for the official website expired on February 25, 2009. The current JAD version only supports the Java classes in versions 45.3, 46.0 and 47.0 (corresponds to Java 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3)
