Hunting season (hunting law)
Hunting times , also known as shooting times , are times when individual game species may be hunted.
They are laid down in the Federal Hunting Act § § 1 and § 22 , in the state hunting laws and accordingly in the " Ordinance on Hunting Seasons " for Germany.
In Germany the State Hunting Act takes precedence over the Federal Hunting Act and the State Hunting Ordinance takes precedence over the Federal Hunting Ordinance. Simple principle: In principle, federal law applies , but if the states have their own rules, these apply. This also applies in particular to the hunting season. The hunting times from JagdzeitV 1977 apply only if a federal state does not have a different regulation for an animal species. The current hunting times for all animal species to be hunted can be found on the state's hunting times page. The time outside the hunting season is called the closed season .
