Centennial stones (Breslau)

Century stone

The century stones ( Polish Kamienie Stulecia , Silesian Joahrhundertsteene ) recall the construction of border posts to Wroclaw .

The three preserved border posts of what were once the six "Centennial Stones" were erected between 1900 and 1901 to mark the city limits on the arteries. All granite pillars had the same shape: a base that could also serve as a seat, a column with the stone inscription Wroclaw district 1900-1901 , on top of it a cube provided with a roof, the sides of which were adorned with the four elements of the city's coat of arms . The pillars were obtained after the war, together with the heraldic symbols and the year on them, but the German inscription Wroclaw district was removed by order of the city administration .
